We are looking for a Water Resources engineer with a background in hydrological modelling and 2D surface water hydraulic modelling to be based in our Sydney office. We assist our clients in different market sectors such as renewables, resources and urban development, and encourage people with a range of experiences to apply.
ABOUT THE ROLE
- You will work alongside and support our team of hydrologists and Water Resources engineers. Depending on your level of experience and career objectives, key responsibilities are likely to include:
- Undertake surface water investigations, flood studies, water balance modelling, stormwater drainage modelling and associated technical reporting.
- Liaise with clients and/or project teams, including civil engineers, geotechnical engineers, landscape architects, hydrogeologists and environmental scientists.
- Collect, compile, present and evaluate/analyse hydrologic and hydraulic data.
ABOUT YOU
- The successful candidate will be tertiary qualified in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or another relevant degree with:
- 3 years to 10+ years’ experience, specifically in hydrology and hydraulic modelling
- Thorough working knowledge with the latest Australian Rainfall and Runoff Guidelines (ARR 2019).
- Ability to set up and run RORB and TUFLOW models in accordance with ARR 2019.
- Working knowledge of GIS software including ArcGIS and QGIS, and the relevant plug-ins for preparation and post-processing of RORB and TUFLOW model data.
- Experience in the preparation of technical reports on hydrology and hydraulic assessments.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrate a desire for learning new skills and professional development.
