Roster: 7 Days on, 7 days off
We are seeking a highly experienced Water Treatment Operator to join our team.
Applicants need to have strong communication skills and work well within a team environment as well as working independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring that water entering plant is treated to meet regulatory standards
- Regulate water flow through stages of treatment
- Using proper methods to treat water, monitor plant for unclean water, and correct any problems as soon as possible
- Ensuring the proper execution of water treatment processes while complying with all safety requirements
- Use appropriate chemicals to treat water and wastewater
- Take samples and monitor water quality
- Keep accurate records of all treatments and readings taken
- Carry out routine maintenance on treatment equipment and report faults to engineers
- Minimum of 3 years' experience operating a treatment plant
- Certificate III in Water Industry Operations or relevant experience
- The ability to follow processes and procedures
- An understanding of health and safety regulations
- Observational skills and attention to detail
- Demonstrated experience with SCADA including the ability to analyse trends
- Knowledge about water treatment process, chemicals, filtration, and other aspects of water treatment.
- Operator must have the ability to read and understand water treatment plant schematics, manuals, and other documents in order to carry out daily tasks
- Requires knowledge of water chemistry, wastewater treatment process and plant operations.
- Be able to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to pass all pre-employment checks
