About the position:
The Water Treatment Operator will monitor, control and operate Toowoomba Regional Council's various Water Treatment Plants and associated facilities, to maintain a safe and reliable water supply which complies with the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines and the Water Supply (Safety and Reliability) Act 2008.
This is a permanent full-time position based in the Toowoomba Region.
The base salary for this position is $1,241.53 gross per week, plus 17.5% annual leave loading and up to 12.65% superannuation.

About the Water Operations Team:
Water Operations forms part of the Water and Waste Services Group (WWSG), which also includes Water Infrastructure Services, Water Project Services and Waste Services. Water Operations is responsible for the operation of Council’s water and wastewater pumping, treatment, and distribution systems to ensure customer service standards and legislative compliance obligations are met.
The team encompasses personnel from various areas of engineering, operations and compliance. Our team believes in fostering a positive work culture based around quality outcomes, effective communication, transparency, professionalism and respect.
How to be successful in this position:
Qualification(s), training and/or experience, specific to the role:
Current Water Treatment Plant Operator’s Certificate III.
Qualifications and experience to Monitor, Operate and Report Fluoridation Systems. If not held must be obtained within 6 months of commencement.
WH&S Competency Card for CPCCOHS1001A – Work Safely in the Construction Industry or 30215QLD – Course in General Safety Induction (Construction Industry), or a willingness to obtain this card before commencement.
Current Confined Space Entry Certificate. If not held must be obtained within 6 months of commencement.
Current Senior First Aid Certificate. If not held must be obtained within 6 months of commencement.
Current Self Contain Breathing Apparatus Statement of Attainment, if not held must obtain within 3 months of commencement.
“LF” Class forklift Licence. If not held must be obtained within 6 months of commencement.
Current “C” Class Driver’s Licence.
