THE OPPORTUNITY
In this dynamic and multifaceted role, you will have the exciting opportunity to take the lead in guiding the Water Treatment Team, ensuring the optimal operation of the treatment plant while meeting stringent Waste Water disposal standards mandated by the EPA. Your pivotal role in facilitating the delivery of high-quality treatment and disposal services will contribute significantly to the protection of the environment for the Dubbo Community.
Your responsibilities include overseeing the efficient production and treatment of potable water, aligning with the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines 2011 (ADWG), NSW Health regulations, and the Dubbo Regional Council’s Drinking Water Management Plan. Your commitment to meeting and ensuring industry best practice conditions will be prominent in your work.
Additionally, you will be tasked with supervising the Treatment Technicians team in their daily roles. This leadership position empowers you to ensure the provision of a safe and high-quality water supply to the residences of Dubbo, Wongarbon, Ballimore, Eumungerie, and Mogriguy.
DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise the maintenance and operation of waste Water Treatment assets in strict accordance with Council's policies and procedures
Utilize a computer-based supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA)/telemetry system to monitor and manage waste water systems efficiently
Establish and maintain a 24-hour emergency response mechanism to promptly address faults and failures in treatment plants and pumping stations
Uphold the highest standards in waste Water Treatment and disposal through the reliable operation of treatment plants, pumping stations, and the laboratory

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE
Certificate III Water Operations
Certificate IV Water Operations (Treatment) or the ability to obtain within 2 years of employment in the position
Solid experience in Supervision of water or waste Water Treatment plants including staff
Demonstrates competency in computer operation and data entry
Experience in telemetry operations
Class C Drivers Licence
