About the role:
We are currently seeking individuals with a passion for the mining industry to join us as Water Truck Operators for an immediate start. While preference will be given to candidates with prior experience, applications from those wanting a career in mining will be considered. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surface Water Truck activities, as well as maintaining a clean and safe living environment for our workforce.
The role is offered on a 1 week on 1 week off FIFO roster from Townsville. Local candidates from Cloncurry or surrounding communities can commute via bus from Cloncurry and are encouraged to apply. Accommodation is provided onsite at the Eloise Copper Mine.
The core requirements of the role are:
- Operate Water Trucks for mainly dust suppression and transport water to designated areas within the mine site.
- Conduct routine pre-start checks and maintenance on water cart equipment.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including following traffic management plans.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members to coordinate Water Truck schedules.
- Maintain accurate records of water usage and deliveries.
- Perform general camp maintenance tasks, including cleaning common areas, maintaining recreational facilities, and addressing any maintenance issues as directed by the Site Services Supervisor.
- Empty rubbish bins throughout the camp area daily and ensure proper disposal of waste in accordance with company procedures and environmental regulations.
- Ideally have some experience in operating heavy machinery and the ability to perform basic maintenance and repairs.
- Perform ad hoc tasks directed by the Site Services Supervisor.
About You:
- Previous experience operating Water Trucks in mining or heavy industrial environments is preferred, but entry-level candidates are welcome to apply.
- Experience in general maintenance and/or housekeeping roles desirable.
- Valid manual QLD driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
- Be reliable, a hard worker and follow instructions.
- A neat and tidy operator that takes pride in their work.
- Hold a high regard for safety by following safe working practices.
- Physically fit and able to pass medical assessment and police clearance.
