About the role
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and passionate Chef to join the team at Uniting AgeWell Strath-Haven, Bendigo on weekends. This is a permanent part time role, the hours of work are Saturday + Sunday 6:30am-2:30pm. Reporting into the Senior Chef, the focus of this role is to provide high quality, nutritious meals and exceptional service to our residents to enhance their daily lives.
This includes
• Planning, ordering and preparing meals in a way that will enhance the resident’s dining experience, in line with all specialised diets, including supplements and texture modified foods.
• Ensuring a high level of compliance with all food safety guidelines and HACCP procedures.
About you
You are motivated, engaging and want to make a difference in the lives of our residents/clients, enhancing their self-esteem and empowering them to make choices
This is the place for you if you:
• Hold a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).
• Have experience in a commercial kitchen environment (Residential Aged Care desired)
• Have worked with specialised diets, including supplements and texture modified food
• Fully conversant with HACCP and food safety legislation
• Availability to work Weekends
• Thrive in leading a team and also appreciate the one to one interactions

Essentials for working in Aged Care
• A current Working With Children’s Check, flu and covid-19 vaccinations
• Have full Australian working rights and are able to pass a national police clearance
• Are willing to work within the ethos of the Uniting Church
