The Role:

Our Welding Supervisor is based at our Edinburgh facility where you’ll be providing welding supervision and inspection services in conjunction with and under the direction of our Senior Welding Coordinator. This role will be responsible for reviewing, preparing, and submitting required documentation associated for manufactured items to ensure they meet all client and compliance obligations, as well as applying and sharing knowledge regarding welding techniques & processes, cutting techniques, materials & equipment, and fabrication requirements. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Welding Coordinator in controlling and monitoring welding activities within the Structural, Pipe, and Pressure Vessel workshops.
  • Witness and appropriately document welding procedures and welding qualifications.
  • Qualify welders to welding procedures against various Australian and International Standards.
  • Monitor fit up and assembly process for each completed component to WPS.
  • Ensure welding is being carried out within limits of WPS’s essential variables.
  • Provide assistance with setup and maintenance of workshop as needed.
  • Provide ongoing welder mentoring and training to upskill workforce.

Skills and Experience:

  • Formal trade qualifications (Cert III Engineering)
  • AS1796 welding tickets desirable
  • Previous pressure equipment manufacturing and welding experience
  • Welding Supervisor AS1796 Certificate 10/2214 or IWS and/or Inspectors qualification.
  • Proven knowledge of WPS’s and WQT’s.
  • Sound knowledge across Structural and Pressure Equipment Australian and International Standards, incorporating AS1210, AS1228, ASME IX, AS1554 parts 1, 5 and 6, AS3992, AS4037, AS4458 and AS4041.
  • Commitment to excellence and attention to detail.
  • Genuine passion for the industry, with interest in sharing the knowledge to develop others within the team.
  • Sound interpersonal, communication and computing skills.
