- Coordinates and provides support for the emotional and psychological health and wellbeing of DBCA staff, including counselling and support services for personal, family or work-related issues, including the provision of on-site care in emergency management situations.
- Provides post-incident support for DBCA staff exposed to critical incidents, in consultation with relevant agency divisions.
- Develops, coordinates, delivers and evaluates culturally appropriate events, meetings, seminars, information sessions and training to broad and diverse audiences.
- Contributes to the development of training programs on the emotional and psychological wellbeing for DBCA staff.
- Provides leadership to the Peer Support Program and Critical Incident Peer Supporters.
- Maintains knowledge of contemporary industry practices, trends and models relating to wellbeing, including psychological health.
- Researches current and emerging trends and models of delivery as related to mental health and wellbeing programs.
- Develops and coordinates project plans, including evaluation, data analysis, and reporting.
- Maintains records in accordance with corporate reporting requirements.
- Represents the department to external stakeholders and the wider community.
- Prepares and presents discussion papers, briefing notes and formal communication on mental health and wellbeing matters.
- Builds and maintains effective relationships with internal staff, emergency services volunteers, community, industry groups and other key stakeholders that support mental health and wellbeing.
- Undertake other duties as required.
- Participates in fire management activities that contribute to bushfire suppression and prescribed burning operations commensurate with capability, capacity, training and level of experience.

- Demonstrated experience in strategic wellbeing management and program development, with a focus on employee wellbeing and critical incident programs.
- Demonstrated high level of verbal, written and interpersonal skills, including preparing and presenting information and operationally delivering training.
- Knowledge of emergency response agencies and the impact on personnel and their families.
- Experience in facilitating employee assistance and peer support programs.
- Ongoing willingness and ability to participate in fire management activities that contribute to bushfire suppression and prescribed burning operations commensurate with capability, capacity, training and level of experience. (Desirable).
