Job description

St Brigid's Catholic College, Lake Munmorah is currently seeking a passionate and skilled Leader of Wellbeing. This is a full-time opportunity with an immediate commencement. The position is initially a two year contract with a 2 point coordinator allowance with potential to extend beyond this time.

About the School

St Brigid's is a College in the Diocese of Broken Bay that commenced in 2014. We teach in dynamic learning spaces, using evidence-based teaching strategies to enable learning growth for all students. At the heart of our approach is a strong commitment to wellbeing ensuring that students feel safe and supported in an environment that challenges them to be the very best person they can be, living life as a disciple of Jesus and making a difference to society.

Specific Criteria

  • Commitment to the Catholic ethos of the College
  • An excellent classroom teacher
  • A demonstrated passion for wellbeing
  • The ability to lead and work in a team environment, both independently and collaboratively
  • An agile, responsive, flexible and collaborative leader
  • Strong work ethic, organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead and be actively involved in all aspects of the students’ College experience, including extracurricular activities
  • Ability to authentically build rapport with students and exhibit outstanding communication skills with families
  • Knowledge an understanding of safeguarding and mandatory reporting guidelines

The Wellbeing Leader will also be responsible for:

  • collaboratively leading wellbeing in the College within the Leaders of Wellbeing Team
  • the leadership of one of the College Houses

Applicants who are not currently working in a Broken Bay systemic school must have a 4 year training qualification or be enrolled to undertake further study that will provide them with a four year trained qualification to be eligible to apply for any teaching position in the Diocese.

Position on COVID-19 vaccinations

Given the current management of risks associated with COVID-19 in the community, and the gradual wind-back of some settings, CSBB has decided to no longer require all staff to be fully vaccinated, effective 19 September 2022. Staff who are not vaccinated will be required to wear masks when working with children at greater risk of serious illness owing to a medical condition and/or physical disability.
