The role
Our Safety and Wellbeing Team has an exciting leadership opportunity as a Team Leader Safety and Wellbeing. Reporting directly to the Manager Safety and Risk, you will work alongside other leaders to lead the Safety and Wellbeing functions to ensure the implementation of the policies, procedures, programs and frameworks across the organisation. You will be empowered to support and lead the continuous improvement of all aspects of safety, wellbeing and injury management.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
- Assist to develop contemporary strategies, policies and systems which will drive and promote a positive Safety and Wellbeing culture that is responsive to organisational needs.
- Build strong working relationships across Council to ensure effective communication and implementation of initiatives.
- Encourage a commitment to engagement of organisational users of safety, wellbeing and injury management services.
- Advocate a preventative and proactive approach to safety.
- Review overall enhanced safety, wellbeing and injury management processes for the organisation.
- Conduct Safety and Wellbeing reporting in an appropriate way for different audiences.
- Provide support and education to staff to build Safety and Wellbeing awareness within the organisation.

You will have:
- Current Class C drivers’ licence.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in WHS or a similar discipline, or appropriate equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated experience at a functional and/or leadership level, especially WHS.
- Experience in Safety Management System design, documentation, implementation and coordination.
- Familiarity with interpreting provisions of relevant legislation.
- Experience in managing projects and/or programs across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Certificate IV Workplace Assessment and Training or RTW Coordinator accreditation is desirable however not essential.
The salary range for this opportunity starts at $118,408 (Grade J, Step 1) + Car Allowance + 11% super. Salary may be negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
