Job description

St John the Baptist Catholic Primary School, Woy Woy is currently seeking a passionate Wellbeing Officer. This is a temporary, part-time opportunity working 25 hours a week for the duration of the 2024 school year.

This opportunity is part of the National Student Wellbeing Program and the Student Wellbeing Boost, helping provide wellbeing support to students in our classrooms and developing a healthy sense of wellbeing amongst all the students at SJB.

Specific Criteria

  • Demonstrates patience, compassion, creativity and initiative.
  • Respect, accept and be sensitive to other people's views, values and beliefs.
  • Promote a safe and inclusive school community, where all people are welcome and respected.
  • Able to directly support students with their wellbeing through running social skills groups and helping with emotional regulation.
  • Working 1:1 with students with diverse learning, behavioural and physical needs.
  • Work collaboratively and professionally with school leadership, learner diversity teachers, classroom teachers, other students and families.
  • Assisting students with individualised behaviour and/or wellbeing programs.
  • A current Working with Children Check.

Conditions

Hours: Monday -Friday 9:00am-2:30pm

Level: LSA 4.4

Salary: $42.62 per hr

Position on COVID-19 vaccinations

Given the current management of risks associated with COVID-19 in the community, and the gradual wind-back of some settings, CSBB has decided to no longer require all staff to be fully vaccinated, effective 19 September 2022. Staff who are not vaccinated will be required to wear masks when working with children at greater risk of serious illness owing to a medical condition and/or physical disability.
