Classification grade: Clerk Grade 3/4

Salary: $79,032 - $86,539 p.a. pro rata plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annualised leave loading.

Work type: Temporary, part-time role (21 hours per week) for up to 12 months with the possibility of extension or conversion to ongoing.

About the role

An exciting new opportunity exists for you, a Wellbeing, Health & Safety Officer to join the People & Culture team at the NSW Crown Solicitor’s Office (CSO).  

The Wellbeing, Health & Safety Officer assists in the provision of safe work practices and initiatives to support positive wellbeing and a safe work culture at the CSO. Reporting to the Wellbeing, Health & Safety Advisor, you will undertake a range of administrative and coordination tasks relating to the provision of programs and initiatives designed to support CSO’s holistic approach to wellbeing. In addition, you will also support the provision of wellbeing health and safety related advice, support the return-to-work coordinator on routine matters and support workers as they recover at work.

Essential requirements

  • Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or equivalent).
  • Knowledge and understanding of the NSW WHS legislative framework including the Workplace Injury Management and Workers Compensation Act 1998

  • You have sound knowledge of WHS principles, risk management strategies, and legislative requirements as it relates to the workplace
  • You have administrative experience and have capacity to learn routine financial and procurement activities
  • You are highly organised and can balance competing priorities
  • You have the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • You show empathy and understanding in assisting employees through recovery processes.
