About the opportunity
We are looking for a motivated and experienced individual to fill the WestInvest Project Accounting Officer position on a 4 year term contract, full-time basis.
This role is primarily responsible to provide project budget management and project support services for the WestInvest projects under the Transformational Projects unit.
The successful candidate will support the section head with a focus on the WestInvest acquittal process, budget management, invoicing, cost and expenditure management and general project duties primarily related to the delivery of the Westinvest transformational projects program, in addition to assisting on other projects within the Transformational Projects Program as required.
Qualifications and experience
Essential:

  • Tertiary qualifications in an Accounting or Finance related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years relevant work experience
  • Current class C driver’s license
  • Demonstrated numerical abilities in presenting data in Microsoft Excel worksheets
  • High level computer software skills including the use of Microsoft Word and Excel and Electronic Document Management.
Desirable:
  • Demonstrated ability to meet the needs and expectations of customers and stakeholders
  • Highly developed organizational and administrative skills with an attention to detail
  • Sound knowledge of the Local Government Act 1993 and Local Government Regulations in relation to procurement
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Technology One Financial Management Information System and Document Management systems
  • High level oral and written communication skills to a broad range of audiences
  • Experience on TechnologyOne
  • Availability to work flexible working hours.
Remuneration and benefits
The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
  • Entry level for this position starts at $1,663.50 per week
  • 35-hour working week
  • Opportunity to participate in Council's flextime arrangement
