Swicker’s Kingaroy Bacon Factory Pty Ltd is an export meat processing facility, based in the South Burnett Region and is ideally located just 2 - 3 hours’ drive to Brisbane, Toowoomba, Sunshine Coast and Fraser Coast. Swicker’s has been in operation in Kingaroy for over 50 years and today employs approximately 750 employees.

As part of the Sunpork Group, Swicker’s is a state-of-the-art processing facility specialising solely in the production of fresh pork and distributing it widely across Australia and internationally. Swicker’s processes 95% of all Queensland’s pork production, including the production of various pork value-add products for consumers worldwide. The opportunity 

The WHS Administration role is responsible for supporting and executing the day-to-day WHS department duties at Swickers Kingaroy Bacon Factory.  Supported by the Work Health and Safety Manager, this role assists to implement administration initiates and document control within the WHS function.

Main duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate Health and Safety inspections/audits within departments.
  • Assist with maintaining and continually developing the company’s Health and Safety software system (preferably Viking and OnLocation);
  • Coordinating the Swickers health and safety committee meetings;
  • Taking meeting minutes where required;
  • Promote health and safety culture onsite to all management teams and staff;
  • Record Hazard and Near Miss reports on the Safety Management System;
  • Demonstrate and exercise a commitment to promote, develop and improve the health, safety, environment and welfare of our people and animals;
  • Administrative support to incident investigations, hazard identification & safety system in general;
  • Document control Safety Management Systems;
  • Oversee the day to day management of the Swickers Chemical Register;
  • Oversee who’s on location/ Transferring Viking Audit system;
  • Upkeep of MYOSH Viking including data base management;
  • Assist with bookings for new injury treatments for third party providers and arrange reporting requirements;
  • Oversee administration of Contractor Management requirements;
  • Other safety and compliance related administrative tasks;

What we’re looking for

Swickers has established an efficient, highly skilled yet diversified team. As a key member you will have: 

  • Manufacturing experience desirable.
  • High level of keyboard and data entry skills, and the ability to take meeting minutes with speed and accuracy using advanced knowledge of the MS Office Suite and working knowledge of safety management systems.
  • Able to demonstrate proficiency in communication with excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to build report with a wide variety of people.
  • Ability to demonstrate problem solving abilities and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Exceptional organisational skills, multi-task, and work to deadlines.
  • Accuracy in data entry.
  • Return to Work Coordinator desirable.
  • A valid ‘C’ class drivers’ licence is required.
