We are looking for a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team who can support and drive safety culture on site while providing support and coordination of safety and health practices, systems and procedures to our teams.
About the Role
As a Work Health and Safety Advisor at PBG, you will play a crucial role in ensuring occupational health and safety standards are met on our sites and our workplaces. You will collaborate with various departments to identify and mitigate potential risks associated with our delivery of repair and restoration services and workplace conditions.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Conduct regular workplace / site inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement preventive measures.
- Provide advice and support to management and employees on health and safety matters.
- Investigate incidents, conduct a root cause analysis and assign corrective actions.
- Assist the safety team to develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and guidelines in compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices.
- Conduct in house safety training and organise external training as required.
- Conduct internal audits and ensure compliance to relevant standards, legislation and ISO 45001.
- This role combines working in our Head office and travel to our local , regional and interstate branches to attend sites on a regular basis.
Skills and experience:
- 3+ years Proven experience as a Health and Safety Advisor, in building and construction .
- Practical knowledge of risk assessment and development of risk controls in a building and construction environment.
- Tertiary qualifications in safety and a trade background would be ideal.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both trades and managers.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation, regulations, and standards.
- Internal audit qualifications highly regarded.
