The Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Advisor plays a critical role in fostering a culture of safety and compliance across Swoop. You will not only lead the development and implementation of health and safety policies but will also be instrumental in influencing positive change and promoting best safety practices within the workplace.
Join our Osborne Park (WA) or Warragul (VIC) based team with the opportunity to work hybrid.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and review health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend preventive measures.
- Lead the development and delivery of WHS training programs to employees, ensuring understanding and compliance with WHS policies.
- Deliver expert advice and solutions for WHS working closely with leadership and employees.
- Develop effective relationships with key stakeholders, advising and utilising influencing skills to promote a culture of safety across all levels of the organisation, encouraging proactive health and safety practices.
Your experience and qualifications
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
- Proven experience in a WHS advisory role, with a track record of improving safety outcomes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Strong consulting, negotiation and facilitation and influencing skills, with the ability to engage and motivate others towards best practice in health and safety.
- In-depth knowledge of current health and safety legislation, standards, and practices
Satisfactory police checks, reference checks and working rights are a requirement of the role.
