Kaiser Reef owns and operates the A1 underground gold mine which is located approximately 120km east of Melbourne in the alpine region of Victoria, together with the Union Hill mine at Maldon, which is currently on care and maintenance and being reviewed for a re-start. Kaiser is an active and growing ASX listed gold producer offering an attractive local Victorian mining workplace.
The A1 Mine offers a dynamic and cohesive team environment where each person makes a difference.
Ideally the candidate would have a sound understanding and experience of WHS principles, regulations, and best practices as well as reasonable computer skills. Well regarded qualities are detailed below:
- Ability to present at meetings to mine crews on matters related to WH&S
- Underground experience in hard rock mining
- Ability to maintain regulatory compliance
- Ability to maintain robust EHS systems
- Experience in workplace training & mentoring
- Incident & accident investigation and analysis
- Knowledge of Victorian OH&S legislation, codes and standards and the ability to interpret and apply to a real world situation
- Ability to maintain Training systems and associated documents – INX experience would be an advantage but not essential
- Ability to maintain inter-departmental relationships – engineering, maintenance, mining, site services etc.
- 8/6 roster
- Victorian resident, drive in, drive out from the A1 Mine site (fly in – fly out not offered)
The role would ideally be 8 days on / 6 days off. Employees are fed and housed locally at the company’s expense. Drive in drive out transport to site is not provided.
