The WHSE Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of workplace health, safety, and environmental compliance across our clients sites in Australia. This role is based in Dandenong South, VIC
This role requires attention to detail, a thorough understanding of relevant regulations and standards, and the ability to effectively communicate and implement safety protocols across all levels of the organisation.
The Role
This role requires the successful WHSE Manager to act as an ambassador of change within the organisation. Identifying key issues and areas of development, the WHSE Manager will champion the following responsibilities:
- Developing and Implementing Safety Policies: Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety policies and procedures
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct regular risk assessments of the workplace to identify potential hazards and implement strategies to mitigate risks and improve overall safety performance.
- Training and Education: Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees at all levels.
- Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into workplace accidents, incidents, or near misses to determine root causes and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date on changes to relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Emergency Preparedness: Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures.
- Safety Culture Promotion: Foster a culture of safety throughout the organization by promoting awareness, accountability, and continuous improvement in safety performance.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Qualification in WHS
- At least 4 years of similar relevant industry experience (preferably in manufacturing)
- Current Drivers License
- Ability to ensure high quality reporting
- Excellent ability to communicate and network with key stakeholders
- Strong proficiency in MS suite, especially excel
