Midland Women’s Health Care Place provides a range of women-centred care services in the East metropolitan area. Our crisis accommodation services, Nardine Refuge, was established in 1974 and is the oldest, still operating, women's refuge in Australia. Nardine provides short-term crisis accommodation and a range of support and services to women and children experiencing family and domestic violence.
Nardine Refuge seeks a motivated, self-directed team player to join a small, dynamic team of multidisciplinary professionals in a challenging and rewarding environment. The right candidate will be offered flexible, family-friendly employment.
The role covers a range of shifts, including afternoon shifts (working until 7pm), morning shifts (commencing at 8am) and weekend and public holiday day shifts from 10 am to 4pm.
Women's advocates provide effective, flexible, high-quality client-directed case management, practical support and service delivery to women, children and young people experiencing family and domestic violence residing at Nardine Refuge, as well as general duties related to operating a residential service.

ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA
The following must be addressed to be considered for the position:
- Provide your demonstrated understanding of family and domestic violence.
- Ability to undertake shift work and be available to work a range of shifts including afternoon shifts (working until 7pm), morning shifts (commencing at 8am) and weekend and public holiday daytime shifts.
- Provide an example of your excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills in advocating, liaising, and engaging with women, young people, children, other service providers, and government agencies.
- Provide an example of how you used client-centred care and strength-based practices to help clients from diverse backgrounds experiencing family and domestic violence.
- Provide an example of when you have conducted a complex case management session with issues including FDV, addiction, and or mental wellness.
- Demonstrate your experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team of professionals in a challenging environment, sharing knowledge and participating as a collaborative team member.
- Demonstrated ability to follow processes, including policies and procedures, in relation to therapeutic practice, record keeping, case notes, reporting, compliance, safety and risk management.
ESSENTIAL REGISTRATIONS, QUALIFICATIONS AND LICENCES REQUIRED
- National Police Clearance – no older than 3 months
- Current WA Driver’s license
- Current Working with Children Check
- Proof of right to work in Australia (Passport, Birth Certificate, Visa)
- Current First Aid certificate (including CPR)
- Minimum qualification of Cert IV Community Services or equivalent.
