About the Position
Our Women’s Centre team are currentlyseeking a highly motivated and person-centred Support Worker toassist with the provision of safe accommodation and support forwomen and children who are escaping from domestic violence or whoare homeless and/or are in a crisis.
This position is part-time (9 hours) until June 2024 on a 3-dayroster:
Wednesday: 17:30 pm - 20:30pm
Thursday: 17:30 pm - 20:30pm
Friday: 17:30 pm - 20:30pm
Key Responsibilities
The duties of the Support Worker will include but are notlimited to:
- Provide a range of information and support options to individuals to enable them to make choices to enhance their safety and wellbeing, prevent homelessness, increase self-reliance, and build their capacity to live independently.
- Support Case Managers to deliver case management plans, including assistance with safety planning, financial planning, housing support and court support.
- Maintain accurate records in accordance with relevant management practices and procedures.
- Ensure that house rules and rostered duties are adhered to, including security and cleanliness of premises.
About You

- Knowledge of domestic and family violence issues affecting both women and children including those from culturally and linguistically diverse and Indigenous backgrounds.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in culturally diverse environments and form positive working relationships.
- Experience working in a community services environment, responding to the needs and aspirations of women and children in crisis.
- Valid Working with Children Check
- First Aid Certificate (or willing to obtain)

This temporary part-time position is a Level 5 Inside Agreementpositions which attract a salary from $74,713.17 - $78,648.24 grosspro rata per annum plus superannuation.
To be eligible to work for us, you need to provide, orhave ability obtain a:
- A copy of Australian driving licence
- National Police Clearance (valid within the last 3 months)
- Pre-Employment Medical and DAS clearance
- The right to work in Australia
