The Opportunity
The Arnott’s Group is seeking a passionate Workers Compensation Advisor to lead our QLD Self Insurance portfolio. This role will be supported by the businesses Health and Wellbeing specialist who guide the Rehabilitation and Return to Work needs of our employees. In addition to managing the Self Insurance portfolio for the Arnott’s Group, this role will support the business in driving best practice and continuous improvement in relation to employee health.
This is an exciting opportunity that offers the flexibility of part time work (3 days / week) in an influential, technical role that has the scope to drive transformational change.
The Accountabilities
- Review existing Workers Compensation systems and processes against best practice industry standards with a continuous improvement mindset
- Proactively manage workers compensation cases including;
- Strong communication with stakeholders,
- Assess and make determinations on all lodged claims
- Coordinate best practice care from treatment professionals
- Electronic record keeping (SOLV database)
- Provide monthly, quarterly and annual updates on case management, to the HSE Manager (QLD).
- Provide timely advice to the key stakeholders on barriers or issues impacting return to work of a worker on workers compensation.
- Liaise with Actuaries, Regulators and the TAG insurance team to ensure licence requirements are maintained
The Ingredients for Success
Just like you can’t make a Tim Tam without chocolate, there are a few essential ingredients we need for this role:
- A minimum of 3 years experience in claims management (self-insured environment preferred) including extensive knowledge of the Workers Compensation legislation including regulated self-insurance obligations as it applies to Queensland
- A sound level of skill in the application of Workers’ Compensation Claims determination and management strategies in a self-insured environment to ensure quality outcomes for both workers and the business
- Proven ability to manage caseloads to achieve sustainable return-to-work results.
- Strong communication and ability to work with key stakeholders
- A high level of experience and skills to communicate effectively using various communication forums.
