To further support the overall wellbeing of Verra Mobility and the continued fostering our safety first culture, we are looking to engage a committed Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Advisor to work across our production, office and field environments regionally.
This is a permanent, full time and hybrid role, working from home and the office (based in South Melbourne).
The role:
As a Workplace Health and Safety Officer at Verra Mobility, you will be responsible for supporting the ongoing development and implementation of an inclusive, behavior-based safety culture and WHS Management System for our regional operations. You will build and maintain strong and cooperative internal and external relationships to promote and integrate WHS into the way we work. Shape the future of road safety by driving initiatives that save lives.
As a WHS Advisor at Verra Mobility we look for:
- Active Collaboration and Positive Contribution: Be an integral and positive member of the Workplace Governance, Compliance, and Risk team, aligning with Verra Mobility's values.
- ISO45001 Safety Management System Compliance: Support the implementation and development of the Certified ISO45001 Safety Management System, ensuring adherence to regulatory and contractual WHS requirements.
- Incident and Hazard Management: Assist in managing WHS incidents and hazards, ensuring timely resolution in accordance with regulatory and contractual obligations.
- Safety Investigation: Conduct timely investigations of workplace safety incidents and hazard reports, contributing to a proactive safety culture.
- Promotion of Positive WHS Culture: Foster a positive WHS risk and behavior-based approach, collaborating across the organisation to identify and implement improvements in the WHS culture.
- Continuous Improvement and Training: Support the implementation of WHS compliance, objectives, and targets, identifying opportunities for WHS program development, and oversee regional WHS training to ensure compliance and skill development.
Who are you?
You offer over 5 years of operational WHS expertise within mid-large sized organisations where you've served as an educator, mentor, and trusted advisor to leaders and employees alike. You are analytical, practical and capable of problem solving in a collaborative and persuasive manner. Deeply familiar with the Australian WHS regulatory framework, you also offer hazard and incident report analysis, investigation, and resolution. Armed with relevant tertiary qualifications, you are adept at supporting ISO 45001 WHS Management Systems and your Lead Auditor certification (preferred) further underscores your commitment to ensuring a safe and compliant workplace.
