About the Role
Teys Australia has an exciting opportunity to a Workplace Health and Safety Manager to join our team at our Rockhampton processing site in Central Queensland. In this pivotal role, the successful candidate will manage end-to-end Health and Safety systems, fostering a learning environment based on Human & Organisational Performance.
With the support of our Group WH&S Manager, the role entails developing, implementing, and maintaining systems designed to prevent workplace injury and illness, facilitating risk assessments and incident investigations. Other responsibilities include providing leadership and support to the WH&S team, maintaining accurate report and records, as well as collaborating on continuous improvement in the safety area.
About You
It is essential that you have the following experience/skills:
- Tertiary qualifications in Work Health and Safety or a relevant field
- Personal qualities of drive, commitment, enthusiasm, and well developed organisational skills
- Advanced computer (MS Word, Excel, Open Office) and written communication skills
Desirable:
- Successful experience working in a safety related role within a manufacturing environment, particularly if it is food or heavy industry
- Experience in the development and application of training plans
- Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to advise and apply statutory obligations in respect to-
- WH&S Legislation and Management Systems
- Workers Compensation as a Self Insurer or Retro Schemes
- Human & Organisational Performance
- Accreditation in-

- Workplace Training and Assessing
- Workplace Health and Safety Officer
