Workshop Foreman (Heavy Vehicle/Diesel Mechanic)

 We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and skilled full time Workshop Foreman (Heavy Vehicle / Diesel Mechanic) to join our busy workshop in Chinderah NSW.

Reporting directly to the National Workshop Manager, the successful candidate will work on a fleet of Heavy Waste vehicles.   Tasks will involve but not be limited to the following:

• Maintaining a fleet of Waste collection vehicles and associated equipment
• Supervise and manage the workshop and mechanical staff
• Maintaining Inventory
• Reporting requirements
• Assist in staff training and development
• Assist if required in both major and minor repairs
• Help manage emergency breakdowns as they arise 
• Scheduled maintenance

The successful applicant will possess:

• Trade certification in Heavy Diesel Mechanical.
• A current rigid truck driver's license 
• Familiarity with Quality Assurance & Occupational Health & Safety
• Self motivation skills
• Good communication and organisational skills

Experience in hydraulics, automotive electrics or welding is not essential, but would be an advantage, as would a forklift licence.  Previous experience in a similar role would also be highly regarded.

A generous rate will be negotiated, depending on experience.

In accordance with our Company’s recruitment process, all successful applicants will be required to undergo a  Pre Employment Medical, which includes a drug test.   A current driving history, with a good driving record will also need to be provided.
