Reporting to the Workshop Manager, the Mechanical Tradesperson role is responsible for the repair and maintenance such as servicing, component replacement, component overhaul, general repairs, and reconditioning works on a variety of Underground Mobile Equipment such as Loaders, Driftrunners, PJB Minecruisers, Continuous Miners, Graders, Shuttle Cars, Feeder Breakers, Power Generators and Ancillary Equipment. You will also be required to provide supervision and leadership to the Workshop personnel, oversee and maintain high standards of workmanship and productivity on the workshop floor and manage the prioritisation of work scope schedules.

Requirements of the Role:
- Cert III in Engineering Mechanical Trade OR Cert III in Mobile Plant Technology (or equivalent) in a relevant field.
- Provide supervision and leadership to workshop personnel.
- Oversee and maintain a high standard of workmanship and work allocation to ensure productivity on the workshop floor.
- Previous experience with repairing underground mobile plant (essential)
- Explosion Protected Diesel Engine Systems – Code D inspections and installation (essential).
- Manage the prioritization of work scope schedules.
- Liaise with stakeholders to determine the most effective utilisation of workshop resources, considering limitations and customer requirements.
- Assist with safety incidents, including investigations and closeout of related incident events.
- Ensure all work and tasks are conducted in a safe manner and that work practices minimise the risk of hard to Bis employees, plant and equipment and the environment.
- Sound knowledge and experience in the application of mining equipment and its life cycle.
- Ability to read and understand schematics and drawings.
- Ability to use measuring equipment.
- Hydraulic and pneumatic experience (preferred)
- Current drivers’ licence.

- Earn upwards of $164,000 base salary inc a retention bonus + superannuation + OT
