Workshop Manager

Established in 1970, our reputable family owned, and operated company has been servicing the car carrying business for over fifty years.

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic to manage and lead our Canberra team. To be successful in this role, you will be a strong leader, have an eye of detail, a strong safety focus and enjoy getting the most out of your team. 

In this role you will be responsible for the following: 

• Management and leadership of our Canberra workshop team
• Develop and training of workshop team to meet operational needs
• Servicing and maintaining our local and interstate fleet of trucks and trailers
• Undertaking breakdown repairs on company vehicles/equipment off site (if required) to minimise fleet interruptions
• Semi-regular travel to Sydney & Wagga to conduct routine servicing on fleet
• Identifying defects in a timely manner and taking necessary action to control and repair
• Ensuring service and mechanical repairs are documented/recorded in internal systems and comply with statutory inspections and company requirements/standards.

You will also possess the following qualifications and experience:

• Recognised trade qualifications (Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic) 
• Previous experience in truck service workshop operations (3 years minimum preferable)
• Welding experience (preferable)
• Current HR licence (preferable) 
• Excellent knowledge of mechanical equipment and terminology
• Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic skills
• Experience and understanding of various computer systems
• Willing to undergo a pre-employment medical
