GDL Automotive Services is a growing mechanical business based in Hornsby and Warriewood. We take pride in delivering high-quality workmanship to our clients and have built our reputation on this. As we continue to expand, we are looking for a dynamic Mechanical Workshop Manager at our Warriewood store to lead our team and drive productivity and quality.
About the Role:
This role will focus around the smooth and efficient operation of our workshop, ensuring jobs are adequately organised. Reporting to the Director, you will be responsible for the day to day running of services and repairs at the workshop to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity is achieved, while providing the highest quality of customer service. Your leadership will drive the success of our team, ensuring efficient workflow, exceptional service delivery, and a positive customer experience.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, motivate, and develop a team of technicians.
- Manage day-to-day workshop operations, ensuring efficient workflow.
- Quoting on new jobs and parts acquisitions as needed for jobs to be completed.
- Follow systems and procedures and ensure checklists and paperwork completed in timely manner.
Maintain high standards of work quality and compliance with safety regulations. - Assist all Technicians and Apprentice Technicians in the diagnosis of mechanical problems.
Optimize resource allocation, including personnel, equipment, and materials. - Provide training and mentorship to team members to enhance their skills.
- Manage the workshop budget effectively.
- Build and maintain positive client relationships.
- Provide clear and honest communication to both customers and staff in regards to jobs being carried out.
Address and resolve technical and operational challenges. - Prepare regular reports on workshop performance for senior management.
- Meeting set KPI’s and targets
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Workshop Manager or similar role.
- Deep knowledge of automotive mechanics and modern workshop tools/equipment
- Strong mechanical background with technical knowledge.
- Leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Budget management experience.
- Commitment to safety and quality.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to changing prior.
