Job Description: Workshop Manager
The Workshop Manager in the Tow Truck Industry is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the workshop, ensuring the maintenance and repair of tow trucks, and managing the workshop team. The role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to coordinate resources effectively to ensure the fleet is operational, safe, and meets industry standards.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the workshop, ensuring all vehicles are maintained and serviced to the highest standards.
- Ensuring accurate, cost effective and timely ordering of parts and consumables to align with scheduled and repair/breakdown maintenance.
- Manage skilled technicians, providing leadership, training, and support.
- Coordinate repair and maintenance schedules, ensuring minimal downtime for our fleet.
- Implement and maintain safety protocols and compliance with industry regulations.
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure the timely availability of parts and equipment.
- Monitor and manage workshop budgets, optimizing costs without compromising quality.
- Maintain accurate records of services, repairs, and inventory.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a managerial role within the tow truck or automotive industry.
- Strong mechanical knowledge, particularly with tilt tray and heavy-duty towing vehicles.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
