Due to rapid expansion, Randstad are seeking applications from available and suitable candidates for the role of Workshop Manager within our client’s well respected and family owned, mining services business in the northern suburbs of Adelaide.
About You
Reporting to the company directors, the Workshop Manager shall be responsible for:
Driving health, safety and housekeeping culture
Promoting a strong and cohesive culture within the team
Supervision of the day to day workshop activities and personnel
Allocation of staff and resources to ensure sustained productivity
Scheduling of projects and day to day activities
Assisting with project quoting and tendering processes
Ordering of raw materials to meet demand
Ordering of consumable parts and PPE as required
Management of stock organisation, storage and disposal
Ensuring fabrication processes and practices are being adhered to
Develop existing processes and practices in line with current legislation
Identify new procedures to be developed and implemented
Responsible for identifying, implementing and maintaining employee training and development
Ensuring machinery and tooling is being well maintained
Ensuring that all products leaving the workshop conform to the company quality standards & client specifications
The successful candidate will possess:
Proven experience managing a dynamic, high quality fabrication workshop or similar
Relevant trade experience and qualifications will be highly regarded
Strong communication skills
Strong commitment to quality and safety
Ability to identify and implement improvements in work processes and the workshop environment
Candidates must be willing and eager to perform at our clients' high standards and energy. Preference will be given to those with heavy fabrication or mining experience.
