About The PositionWorkPac are currently seeking a Workshop Manager to work with our local Client based in Adelaide, SA. The Manufacturing Manager at our Adelaide workshop plays a pivotal role in overseeing the production of automated packaging machines. As a key member of the management team, the Manufacturing Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating workshop activities, managing staff, and ensuring the successful execution of manufacturing processes.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead workshop staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment.
  • Supervise and workshop staff and apprentices, providing guidance and support to maximise individual and team performance.
  • Collaborate with Project, Design and Automation teams to optimise processes and establish production schedules, ensuring timely delivery of products to meet customer demands.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards, production schedules, and cost control measures.
  • Oversee the maintenance and calibration of manufacturing equipment to guarantee optimal performance and adherence to safety standards.
  • Manage inventory levels and liaise with procurement to ensure the availability of raw materials and components.
  • Collaborate with the Health and Safety team to promote a safe working environment and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Provide regular reports to the Operations Manager on manufacturing performance, challenges, and improvements.
  • Participate in strategic planning sessions to align manufacturing goals with overall company objectives.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations for workshop staff and identify opportunities for skill development and training.
Skills And Experience
  • Mechanical trade qualification with relevant industry experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field is advantageous.
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing leadership role, preferably in automated machinery production.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality control.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and compliance.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
