Based in Adelaide the capital city of South Australia with its Mediterranean lifestyle, excellent facilities and affordable accommodation we are currently looking for a Workshop Manager to join our team. With significant sales and major workshop and facility renovation and expansion we require an experienced Manager to coordinate and direct the service department technicians for maximum efficiency and productivity while overseeing all service repair work to ensure the highest quality of customer service. Ensuring repairs are performed in a professional and tradesman like manner in accordance with industry-accepted good practices as well as adhering to the health and safety best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure all work is carried out safely and all company policies and statutory requirements
- Management of day-to-day workshop operations
- Be a coach/mentor in assisting technicians and apprentices to develop in their skills and technical competence.
- Ensure customers receive the best quality service by ensuring that all jobs are completed correctly the first time.
- Manage, direct and supervise Vehicle Technicians and Apprentices to ensure the smooth running of the workshop
- Responsible in conjunction with the Service Manager for ensuring all incoming work is planned and then managing the time and resources.
- Assigning Vehicle Technicians and Apprentices to tasks ensuring productivity is maximised and that deadlines are adhered to.
- Quality checking, ordering of parts, audit, and compliance
- Keep the Service Manager informed of all problems and potential problems involving repairs, customer complaints and equipment.
- Ensure completed repairs are quality tested and signed off.
- Assist with road testing when required.
- Monitor Carry Overs
- Ensure that relevant information is communicated to technicians and apprentices enabling them to effectively carry out their functions
- Effectively delegate tasks to technicians and apprentices in line with skill, knowledge, and ability and where necessary identify skill gaps and training requirements
- Local Legal/Regulatory Trade Technician Certifications
- Sound knowledge of service department workings
- Prior experience as a Workshop Manager
- HR / Full License
- Understanding of products and services necessary to perform duties and tasks as a Workshop Manager
- Sound knowledge in repair and maintenance concepts, troubleshooting, repair methods and techniques, vehicle technical aspects, tools, and equipment
- Ability to use instructions and documentation
- Experience in using software and information technology to accomplish one's work
