Our client based in Dandenong are a prominent player in the building materials industry, manufacturing and distributing a comprehensive range of products essential for construction projects.
They specialise in clay bricks, pavers, masonry, stone, roofing concrete tiles, and terracotta roof tiles.
They are seeking a Full-Time Permanent Day Shift Yard Team Leader to ensure smooth operations and uphold quality standards in their yard facility. The shift times for the role will be flexible 9am or 10am start times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule deliveries, prepare dockets for that day and the following day
- Assist with loading and unload trucks, moving pallets with a several types of forklifts
- Lead Yard Team to ensure safe practices, efficient operations, and quality targets are met.
- Ensure loaded tiles meet QA specifications, maintaining accurate stock quantities.
- Coordinate with Production and QA for stock management and corrective actions.
- Participate in stocktakes, maintain reporting and quality measures.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and SOPs.
- Communicate closely with plant and dispatch personnel, other departments, and customers.
- Develop operators, identify training needs, and complete yard reports accurately.
- Participate in Toolbox Talks and enforce site safety.
- Maintain team's learning, implement process improvements, and uphold yard housekeeping.
Qualifications and Experience
- 12 months experience in a similar position
- Ideally experience working in a yard environment
- Forklift License with 12 months minimum experience - multiple forklifts on site (Counter-balance, Reach, Double-Deep, Double-Tyne, Side-Loader)
- Computer ERP/WMS Systems experience - preferably Oracle system
- Comfortable lifting up to 10-20kg
- Victorian Drivers License
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions both written and oral
- Ability to adhere to timeframes/deadlines
