About the role
Reporting to the Campus Manager, this crucial role works closely with an allocated team of tutors to ensure they are supported on campus, and equipped to deal with student queries and issues. The Team Leader assumes responsibility for a group of tutors, and oversees all aspects of their development from a teaching and learning perspective.
Key responsibilities will include:
- To ensure all legal obligations and company policies are met
- All campus audits passed/action plans followed up
- Ensure your campus is meeting the requirements of the code of practice for the pastoral care of all students
- Effective management of financials, HR requirements (recruitment, induction, performance management)
- Complete quarterly check of the Health and Safety Plan
- Ensure Tutors meet NZQA requirements and staffing levels are at maximum efficiency
- Carry out all other duties as outlined in the staff Manual
- Carry out annual appraisals of all staff and manage disciplinary action if required in conjunction with the Campus Manager
- Liaise with students and prospective employers to achieve employment outcomes.
- Graduate success rate at 80% industry employed or stair-cased to a higher-level qualification
- Organise regular industry visits contact that is purposeful to the faculty you support
- Work closely with the Faculty Leads to ensure high academic outcomes and NZQA programme compliance
About you
- A self-motivated team player with proven organizational, staff management and positive leadership skills; Ability to inspire others
- A good understanding of compliance requirements (TEC/NZQA) and health and safety requirements.
- Strong background in education sector and pastoral care
- Strong time management skills with ability to work across multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Project management skills in organization of events, industry visits and professional development planning
- Background in technology with basic knowledge in Python – would be advantageous but not required
