Be Recruitment is thrilled to present an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Clinician with experience in supporting at-risk young people in South West Sydney.
As a Clinician, you will be at the forefront of planning and delivering comprehensive assessments and treatments for children and young people residing in residential care. This role requires a compassionate professional who can address the complex needs of young individuals and provide guidance to staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment Planning: Develop tailored assessment plans to evaluate the unique needs of each young person. This includes initial screenings, in-depth assessments, and ongoing evaluations to ensure that all aspects of the young person's well-being are considered.
- Formulation Development: Create comprehensive formulations for each child to guide therapeutic interventions, behavioural support, and transition plans. These formulations will be used to develop targeted strategies that address the specific challenges faced by each individual.
- Therapeutic Support: Provide trauma-informed reflective practice, supervision, training, support, and consultation to staff delivering programs for children and young people in intensive therapeutic care. This involves leading training sessions, offering one-on-one support, and ensuring staff are equipped with the knowledge and skills to deliver high-quality care.
- Individualised Treatment: Deliver personalised treatment plans and work closely with young people to engage them in the therapeutic process. This includes one-on-one counselling, group therapy sessions, and other therapeutic activities designed to promote healing and growth.
- Behavioural Support Plans: Design, coordinate, and monitor the timely review of Behaviour Support Plans. This involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure that each plan is effectively implemented and adjusted as needed to meet the evolving needs of the young person.
- A tertiary qualification in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Mental Health Nursing, or a related discipline.
- Current registration with a professional body (AHPRA, AASW, ACA, PACFA, etc.).
- At least three years experience as a clinician or therapeutic caseworker, with Children and young people experiencing complex trauma. This includes familiarity with trauma-informed care principles and practices.
- Experience in a therapeutic or clinical setting, preferably within residential care or similar environments.
- Full NSW Driver's Licence.
- Willingness to obtain a First Aid and CPR Certificate prior to commencement.
- Willing to undergo a national criminal history check.
