Job description

This position qualifies for a Recruitment Incentive Package up to the value of $10,000 (pro-rata part-time/temporary positions less than 18 months), and a reoccurring Annual Retention Bonus valued up to $10,000 (pro-rata part time), under the 
NSW Health Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme.

This scheme recognises the role key health workers play in enabling the delivery of rural and remote health services, and aims to provide incentives over and above award entitlements, to attract and retain staff in these areas.

To recognise ongoing service in this role, once the successful candidate has served a qualifying period, they will become entitled to a reoccurring Annual Retention Bonus valued up to $10,000 (as taxable income).

What you'll be doing

  • The AOD Youth Clinician works with young people aged 14 to 25, their carers and family in a case management and therapeutic intervention capacity
  • This involves specialist assessment, care planning, treatment, withdrawal management, referral services to people experiencing drug and alcohol problems
  • Work across the CMHDA and CAMHS multidisciplinary teams and participate in educational outreach work

How to apply  To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria in the application as thoroughly as possible.

  • Recognised degree or qualification in health, welfare, or social science with a minimum of two years AOD clinical experience with eligibility for NSW registration/professional association where relevant). Or if no recognised degree or qualification, significant AOD clinical experiences of a minimum of five years.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in drug and alcohol clinical practices and treatment interventions.
  • Demonstrated application of evidence based practice and critical thinking to advocate for and implement recovery oriented individualised person centred and trauma informed care to clients of the Drug and Alcohol service.
  • Demonstrated commitment to work and partner with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander consumers and their families to enhance health outcomes.
  • Evidence of participation in own professional development and commitment to maintaining competence and enhancement of skills together with willingness to apply and share professional expertise with colleagues and students.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills including the verbal and written ability to communicate and consult with clients, family and/or carers and other health, community and welfare professionals together with intermediate computer skills including use of the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Demonstrated competence in the use of electronic information systems and the ability to maintain accurate medical records utilising appropriate documentation and entering data related to activity in a timely manner.
  • Current licence to drive in NSW
