About the opportunity:
You will deliver high-level support, advice (individual and group counselling) and execute a range of strategies in response to the social, well-being and learning needs of students and their families. More specifically you will:
Collaborate within the school community, and with external professionals and services to promote school-wide mental health and wellbeing initiatives
Work with students' families or caregivers and social, health, and wellbeing services to build individual support networks as well as promote the safety, wellbeing, and inclusion of all in the College community.
Key Criteria:
• Demonstrated experience working with adolescents in an education setting, particularly in understanding the unique socio-development environment of young people.
• It is essential that our Counsellors have the ability to actively engage with a diverse student population, at all stages of their social, emotional, wellbeing and academic development, particularly those who have multiple and complex needs.
• Registered practitioner - social worker, community health, counselling eligible for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers
• Demonstrated capability to deliver evidence-based professionally informed support and advice, especially in dealing with sensitive issues
• Collaborative mindset
