As the Inclusive Youth Services Coordinator, you'll be the guiding force, overseeing Support Workers and ensuring the well-being of children in Out of Home Care, with a particular focus on embracing and celebrating Aboriginal diversity.
Key Responsibilities:
• Be the cultural guide and leader that Support Workers can look up to with pride.
• Infuse cultural sensitivity into providing support to our diverse Participants and their families.
• Share the richness of Aboriginal cultures in team meetings and contribute to a tapestry of understanding.
• Address complaints and feedback with cultural wisdom, aligning with organisational policies.
• Plan inclusive appointments, meal plans, and daily activities.
• Collaborate with treatment teams to achieve outcomes that respect and embrace cultural diversity.
• Inspire continuous improvement across the business.
• Weave stories through reports that celebrate cultural diversity and engage stakeholders authentically.
• Navigate documentation with a cultural lens, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.
• Uphold company policies and procedures.
• Be the trusted point of contact for participant complaints, addressing concerns with cultural sensitivity.
• Lead with cultural competence, enthusiasm, and a commitment to inclusivity.
• Customise your supervision style to honour and celebrate the unique strengths of your Support Workers.
• Create an environment where cultural diversity, accountability, and excellence are celebrated.
• Complete training requirements.
• Embrace ad hoc duties.
Skills and Experience:
• Experience in the Community Services Sector.
• Previous experience as a Team Leader, with a deep appreciation for diverse leadership styles.
• Diploma or higher within disability, mental health, or a similar field (bonus points for cultural competence).
• Police Check, dated within the last 6 months.
• Current First Aid certificate
• WA Driver’s License and your own transport
• Working with Children Check
• NDIS Workers Orientation Module and Screening
• Demonstrate ongoing professional development with a focus on cultural awareness – because learning is a lifelong journey.
