1st Class CNC Machinist

Impact Engineering is a mechanical engineering company with a broad skill base and excellent knowledge in mills, kilns, heat exchangers, gear drives and machining. 

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated CNC Machinist to join our team 

Responsibilities: 

• Set up, operate, and program a variety of CNC machines,  
• Have knowledge with a variety of different operating software including FANUC, DMG Mori, Siemens. 
• Utilise SolidCAM software to create efficient machining programs. 
• Interpret complex engineering drawings, and CAD models to ensure accurate part creation. 
• Conduct thorough inspections throughout the machining process, maintaining strict quality control standards. 
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks. 
• Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues independently and collaboratively. 
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts within the machine shop. 

Skills and Experience: 

• Relevant Trade Qualifications (Fitter and Machinist) 
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment (post apprenticeship)  
• Strong understanding of cutting tools, feeds, speeds, and fixturing techniques. 
• Demonstrate leadership qualities in the workplace. 
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
• A valid forklift license is desirable.
