Our Opportunity
As Senior HSE Advisor, you will be responsible for overseeing multi-staged projects and assisting the workplace manager/s in the day-to-day implementation of the Mirvac HSE management system and the workplace risk management plans. The Senior HSE Advisor reports directly to the Regional HSE Manager and maintains a functional reporting line to the workplace managers on all matters relating to health safety environment across the designated workplaces.

Your responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
  • Undertake HSE duties as directed by the Regional HSE Manager consistent with the requirements of the Health Safety Environment Management System.
  • Maintain a functional line of reporting to the workplace managers with regard to HSE matters.
  • Review and assist in the development and implementation of a Workplace Risk Management Plan/s.
  • Participate in design reviews to consider HSE risks and design change to eliminate or minimise the risks identified (Mirvac Group DOOR process - Designing Out Our Risk).
  • Assist and review where required risk & opportunity register planning for the workplace/s and its work activities to establish the level of health safety environment management planning required before commencement.
  • Assist in the establishment of the project HSE document filing system using Mirvac Group Document Filing Procedure HSEP4.02.
  • Provide assistance where required in the assessment of tenders submitted by the Service Providers (contractors and suppliers) and the ability of those Service Providers to comply with health safety environment conditions stipulated in the contract using Mirvac Group form Service Provider Tender/High Risk Work HSE Assessment Checklist HSEF2.33.
  • Provide assistance in review of HSE Management Plans and Job Safety & Environment Analysis or equivalent provided by Service Providers prior to commencement of work using Mirvac Group form Service Provider Permit for works to proceed HSEF2.17.
  • Facilitate the dissemination of health safety environment information to all relevant personnel.
  • Assist and review in the investigation and formal reporting of incidents involving injury, near miss, damage to plant and equipment or environment harm within 24 hours and ensure that appropriate and timely action is initiated to prevent recurrence.
  • Monitor implementation of Mirvac Group HSE Management System, procedures and work
  • Communicate incident occurrences, in particular notifiable occurrences involving emergency services or regulatory authority attendance at the workplace
  • Assist in the implementation of Mirvac initiatives including young workers, noise and task observation or COBBAH.

Your point of difference
To be successful you must have a minimum 3-5 years' experience working in a HSE role within the construction industry ideally working on major and large scale mixed use building projects.

You will demonstrate knowledge of Australian Quality, OH&S and Environmental procedures, have formal qualifications in a Health, Safety and Environment discipline.
