Job Description
About the Internship
The eight-week paid Radio Internship Program is an ideal opportunity for the next generation of Australia's diverse radio talent to build their skills and get real-world experience under their belt. We're seeking passionate and ambitious individuals who are eager to gain hands-on experience across our various radio departments.
Across the eight weeks, no two days will look the same, giving you a broad hands-on feel for what it's like to work within our Radio station! You will primarily have exposure working with our program teams, helping producers and presenters research stories, pursue interviews and vet calls for broadcast. You will work with the digital team , pulling together on-air content for our website and social media accounts. In the newsroom, you'll be working with journalists to understand how they generate, write and present live and recorded bulletins and accompany them on the road to press conferences. You will truly gain a comprehensive understanding of what it's like to work within our Radio station.
Based out of East Perth, the internship program is managed by our Radio Station / Content Manager and you will be buddied up with a mentor for each of your rotations.
Qualifications
About you
- You have an interest in pursuing a career within a Radio Station & Digital / Social Media
- Available for full time work for eight weeks commencing mid to late April. You may be required to work across different shifts (day, afternoon, nights).
- Open to the potential of either permanent or casual opportunities post internship
- Knowledge and passion for news and current affairs
- Are professional in approach and have strong work ethic
- Excellent communication skills
- Are eager to learn and get as much out of the program as possible
- And most importantly, you are a team player that works best in a team based (and fun) environment
