The Accounting Support Officer position is a key role within the organisations finance team with a focus in AP, AR, corporate finance and travel allowance.
To complete these tasks, the successful candidate must have an exceptional ability to liaise with both internal and external stakeholders, with an integrated understanding of financial best practice and operational standards.

My client is a leading state government department, who provide critical support services to the Queensland community.
As a progressive and diverse organisation, they are undergoing a transitional period of change across the finance team and wider business.
Description
On a daily basis the key responsibilities of this role will include;
- Providing support to all areas of the financial services team including AP, AR, corporate card and debt administration & banking support services.
- The preparation and verification of vouchers to process financial policies and procedures, aligned with financial policies and procedures.
- Promptly and accurately liaise with internal stakeholders, external stakeholders and vendors regarding business support matters, issues and escalations.
- The completion of financial administration tasks to maintain compliance of departmental policy, procedures and standards.
- Retrieval and analysis of accounting data to prepare reconciliations and reports for management, utilising word processing, spreadsheets or financial management software.
Profile
The ideal candidate will have express across a broad range of financial and accounting procedures, with experience in the government sector highly desirable.
Other experience and characteristics include:
- Knowledge of reporting in a finance context.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage large data sets accurately.
- SAP ECC experience for payment management/reporting highly regarded.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
Job Offer
On offer is an initial 6-month contract, with ideally an immediate start available.
Joining a cohesive and collaborative team, you will have the opportunity to assist in a period of systems and organisational change. Based in CBD offices, there will be opportunity for hybrid working after initial training as agreed with the Team Leader.
The hourly rate on offer is $46.88/hour + Superannuation.
