Position Classification: Aboriginal Health Clinician - Psychologist, Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Level 2, Social Worker Level 2, Welfare Officer Level 2

Provide and coordinate therapeutic interventions to whole families where child protection concerns have been identified along with a co-existing drug and/or alcohol and/or mental health problem.
Enhance service efficacy for Aboriginal families by building cultural awareness and competence amongst the broader team.
If you have:
- Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent. Aboriginality is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised by section 14(d) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1997
- A degree in a relevant field, or equivalent work experience or a combination of study and work experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of, and sensitivity to the needs of families under stress, particularly related to their mental health and/or drug and alcohol health issues
- Demonstrated knowledge of NSW Mental Health Act 2007 and commitment to Northern NSW Local Health District's (NNSWLHD) Closing the Gap initiatives of providing accessible and responsive mental health/drug and alcohol services
- Demonstrated experience in working with, and an understanding of the dynamics of intra-familial child abuse and neglect and the contemporary principles of family focused integrated treatment, including safety planning and risk assessment
