Why this role matters
UNSW Medicine & Health is currently undergoing an exciting period of growth and development by expanding its health program offerings and re-designing the flagship undergraduate Medicine program to align with the future needs of the health workforce.
The Medicine Program Redesign (MPR) Project has been established to design and develop a revised undergraduate Medicine program, introducing innovative approaches and technologies. The role of Academic Development Lead is key to the success of this project.
The role works closely with the Associate Dean Innovation and will be responsible for collaborating with key stakeholders and the MPR Project team to deliver there designed Medicine program project to a high level of quality and in a timely manner.
The project is currently in a key phase, high-level design,during which the major decisions for the new Medicine program will be made and the Academic Development Lead role will have the opportunity to influence the direction of the program.
Role-specific tasks, may include curriculum design and mapping; development of a new Case-Based Collaborative Learning program;contributing to the evaluation and design of an innovative assessment program and development of student support strategies such as learning coaches.
Who you are:
- A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience.
- Demonstrated experience in curriculum design and development using a range of innovative pedagogical approaches, at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
- Curriculum development and design experience in a medical program is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in use of educational technologies, digital assessment, and online delivery methods.
- Excellent time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative.
- Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication and teamwork.
