- Remuneration SCHCADS level 5 dependent on qualifications and experience + 11% Employer superannuation

About the position:
This position will work as part of the Access Team, providing comprehensive intake and assessment, mental health support and brief interventions to young people aged 12-25. This multidisciplinary team serves as the first point of contact to the service, and demonstrate a high level of customer service and professionalism in their approach.
Working within the headspace model, the team coordinates the clinical delivery of treatment and care, making sure young people and their families receive accessible, timely, responsive and suitable services to meet their needs.
Access Clinicians are energetic, enthusiastic and capable of working within the headspace model to deliver services within the community and enhance health care access for young people.
Some of your key responsibilities will be:
- Provide a first point of contact and conduct initial telephone screening with young people to engage them, identify needs and risks and triage responses accordingly;
- Provide bio-psychosocial assessments (utilising the HEADSS assessment tool), initial care plans and pathway support for young people addressing needs and risks, in a shared decision making approach with the young person and their family (as appropriate);
- Assertively monitor young people’s mental health and wellbeing as required;
- Complete service activity and outcome measures as per service protocol;
- Provide single sessions, brief interventions, psycho-education, useful online resources and other information for mental health and drug and alcohol problems, information on services and how to access these;
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary and multi-sectorial care team environment.
