COMPANY OVERVIEW:

This fast paced third party procurement business is on a mission to become the leader in its industry.  The core function of this business is to source and deliver specialised products to its clients across various industries, such as Mining, Oil and Gas and Defence.  The products sourced by the business provide valued solutions for its customers through the use of innovation, efficiency, and operational excellence.

THE ROLE:

Working closely with the Sales and service team, as well as the company Directors, your day will involve researching and procuring items for clients from many different source.  This company supplies its clients with everything imaginable (from bolts to washing machines to technical mining parts), so you will need to use your imagination and research skills to find them the best solution for their procurement requirements.   Once items are procured you will be responsible for the ongoing client management and ensuring that the third-party logistics providers deliver the goods in a timely fashion.  

In addition, this role will be critical in assisting in the generating new business growth.  This will be achieved by further developing existing client relationships (great service), identifying areas of improvement in pricing models or developing commercial relationships with new clients.

No two days are the same in this job but here is a snapshot of what the job will entail:

  • Researching and procuring items for clients from many different sources. You will be trained on how to do this, so no experience required!!
  • Assisting the Commercial team in all aspect of Sales and service, including identifying new opportunities that contribute to business growth.   
  • Administration - Monitoring and updating the database with relevant information, report generation, logging incoming enquiries, filing and upkeep of the Document Management System.
  • Customer Service - Communicate clearly with suppliers and vendors for quotes, delivery dates, status updates and general queries.  
  • Day to day support for the Commercial team such as liasing with manufactures, freight and logistics companies and distributers etc. 
  • A purpose-built training program and a supportive management structure is in place to ensure you get up to speed as soon as possible.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • A high level of professionalisms and integrity?  Supplying some of Australia’s biggest companies requires and honest approach, even when things don’t go to plan. 
  • Outstanding customer management and service skills, ideally in a B2B environment. 
  • Experience identifying new opportunities for business growth within an existing client base.  Experience in new business generation will be highly regarded.   
  • No previous procurement experience is required, just the willingness to learn all about the best ways of finding what the clients needs.  
  • Strong computer / MS Office skills and previous Customer Service or administration experience? Some finance or purchasing experience would be ideal but is not a prerequisite
  • A positive attitude? The most important requirement for this job is a can do attitude and a methodical and process driven mind set. 
  • An amazing ability to multi task - with orders constantly flowing in to the business it is important that the successful candidate can manage and prioritise their work load to ensure that the company does not miss sales opportunities.

This is a full-time job and you will be required to work mostly out of the Subiaco office.  There is however scope for planning your office hours to fit your requirements and the ability to WFH when required.   The better you manage your busy work load the more flexibility you can achieve.
