The purpose of this role is to provide account support and assistance in managing the client's business, public relations strategy and to keep day to day activities running smoothly. We are now excited to invite applications for the role of Account Manager with our awesome Public Relations team in Sydney. This opportunity sits in our Corporate/Consumer PR team, specialising in finance, fintech, B2B and tech PR work that helps shape brand narratives and contributes to creating stories that drive financial education and inclusion.
Dentsu Creative Public Relations is a full-service agency bringing together the expertise of heritage brands Haystac (consumer and brand), Cox Inall (behaviour change, corporate and agribusiness) and Cox Inall Ridgeway (First Nations) into a single agency offering.
The role:
As the Account Manager (AM), you will assume direct responsibility for every aspect of the day-to-day management of client work in the fintech team. You will be responsible for developing efficient pitching strategies, translating data and insights into great stories and fostering relationships with the media. New business is also an important opportunity for this role, and you will have the chance to work closely with the leadership to bring new accounts. As our next AM, you will ensure tasks are completed effectively, work is carried out to the high standards set, deadlines are met, budgets are properly created and managed, above-average results are achieved and appropriately presented, and clients are happy.
Core responsibilities:
- Storytelling: shaping and producing the stories that will deliver the most results for clients at the back of insights and data analysis and the media agenda.
- Work closely with managers and team leadership to help plan and execute external communications programmes
- Assists in developing and executing comprehensive public relations and communications programmes to strategically position the organisation in the marketplace
- Help manage external PR agency resources
- Develop and maintains media and publication target list
- Monitor media coverage
- Write press releases, news stories, articles, case studies and product pieces
- Respond to enquiries from journalists, arranges interviews and editorial meetings
A bit about you:
- Have an innate understanding of what makes news, how to develop story angles and be able to pitch ideas to the media effectively
- Highly competent in a range of PR services, including storytelling, media relations, copywriting for specific regulation environments and styles that suit different media targets, data and insights analysis
- Excellent knowledge of the media - the ability to manage a media relations campaign and pitch stories independently
- 3yrs-4ys minimum experience in Account Management or Exec role - able to demonstrate excellent writing strategies, social copy and media releases from this time
