We are Australia's leading transport fuel supplier with operations and interests across Singapore, New Zealand, Philippines and the USA and our Trading & Shipping operations are responsible for sourcing all imports and exports of product (gasoline, jet and diesel), crude oil, feedstocks and other intermediates and related shipping to enable the reliable supply of high-quality products to locations across Australia as well as the Gull New Zealand business.
About the role:
As part of our Sales - Marine division, we are looking for Senior Account Manager & Scheduler on a full-time basis to look after the scheduling of product sales by barge, truck or pipeline transfer from the Refineries and terminals and the subsequent invoicing of product and services provided to our national client base.
The role will also act as a support and backup to the Sales Manager Marine as a Senior Account Manager, maintaining relationships with key customers to market and sell the companies fuel, lubricant and Ampolcard with a view to maximising sales & margin return to Ampol.
This position is open to applications from all over Australia for candidates with full working rights and it offers a flexible office and home base arrangement based on candidate's location.
Key responsibilities.
- Provide maritime expertise to formulate solutions & support to the Marine and other Ampol teams
- Partners with Sales Manager & other team members to increase sales growth targets by supporting tender submissions and supporting team with maintaining base volume through account management and business reviews - a key enabler for Marine to achieve its targets
- On call after hours, weekends and Public Holidays to manage all operational issues and being able to balance workflows and responsibilities to maintain work/life balance and meet all HR requirements
- Supports own customer base and Marine reaching their EBIT target - assist to manage and implements EBIT improvement projects
- Continuously seeks truck logistics and accredited fitters to provide resources to the Marine team to enable quotations to customers
- Awareness, application of processes and full compliance always to the Competition & Consumer Act
- Up to date systems knowledge - including SAP, Salesforce, AmpolBUY and all reporting platforms used for sales management
- Actively participating in Ampol Sales Academy to continuously improve skill set to enhance customer retention, help build profitable growth and generate new leads in targeted customer segments
- Generate new accounts via Salesforce and leverage the full capabilities of the system to support the sales strategy and reporting for sales targets and performance
Skills and experience:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in scheduling or purchasing.
- High Level of Marine & port knowledge.
- High understanding of Supply chain and Logistics
- Very strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Superior pricing/SAP/reporting knowledge and skills
- Up to date knowledge of National and International markets and development in Industry.
- Ability to analyse and interpret data, and then effectively present and explain the data
- Negotiation and Influencing Skills
- Successfully history of partnering with key client groups and stakeholders
- Prioritisation / organisational skills, comfortable working in a flexible or changing environment
- Demonstrates strong, clear, concise and unambiguous communication (verbal and written).
