Accountant (7 Month Contract)

We seek a dynamic, energetic and passionate Accountant to join our team for a 7 month contract period.  The role is offered on a full-time basis, although we’re open to a 4-day week if that’s a better fit for the successful candidate.

You must have an Accounting qualification and strong Microsoft Office skills (particularly Excel) and possess the ability to pick up new procedures and accounting systems quickly.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES IN THE ROLE:

You will work closely with the Finance Manager as a key member of the Finance Team, and your responsibilities will include:

• Ensure timely month-end close for each group entity, including journal entries, transaction review and balance sheet / intercompany / credit card reconciliations;
• Preparation of fortnightly financial and non-financial dashboard reports;
• Prepare monthly financial and management reporting for all group entities;
• Prepare Business Activity Statements, Fringe Benefit Tax returns, Export Levy returns and tax working papers;
• Assisting with annual statutory and industry reporting;
• Research and advise on tax and accounting issues;
• Manage the trade credit function;
• Maintain fixed asset registers;
• Coding, keying and reconciliation of AP invoices for major accounts;
• Provide cover for AP & AR functions during staff leave periods;
• Assisting with document processing associated with the annual vineyard harvest;
• Management of rental properties along with external property managers;
• Other finance-related tasks as they arise.
