About the role
South West Healthcare (SWH) is the largest sub-regional health service in Victoria, providing acute, mental health, rehabilitation, and aged care together with an extensive range of primary and community health services across the south west catchment. This is a unique opportunity for an outstanding and high performing Director to join the SWH leadership team.
SWH is in a significant era of change with the recent opening of a brand new integrated South West Supply and Logistics (SWSL) and the South West Regional Linen Service facility and are about to undertake a redevelopment project at the Warrnambool campus.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer the Director for Corporate Services is critical to leading the corporate support and business services operations through this period of change and ensuring that SWH continue to deliver exceptional high quality, safe patient care and an outstanding patient experience.
The position has overall leadership and accountability across all SWH campuses/sites for:
- Food Services
- Environmental Services
- South West regional supply services
- South West Regional Linen Service
- Procurement, tender and contract services
- Other support services including:
- Switchboard
- Retail Services (healthcare supplies) / Patient Equipment Management
- Car parking / Fleet management
- Radiology and Pathology contracts
In addition, the Director Corporate Services is a key member of the Chief Operating Officer's (COO) management team, and will provide strategic and operational advice to the COO and the broader organisation.
This is an exciting career opportunity for an experienced senior leader to be part of this new phase and redevelopment at SWH.
What you bring
The successful applicant will hold a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (business management, logistics, project management/redesign with relevant experience) along with demonstrated experience in a senior business management role relating to leading and managing large business units. In addition the successful applicant will have well developed skills in leading change and projects in a complex and changing environment.
You must also demonstrate knowledge regarding the development and implementation of strategic and operational plans, policies and initiatives.
An ability to respond to and meet regulatory requirements and legislative changes; strong knowledge and understanding of the legislative and policy framework in the public health sector; and contemporary knowledge of quality improvement and risk management is also essential for the position.
