AddressUnion Institute of Language (UIL) is a dynamic English Language College located in the Education City precinct in the modern, growing community of Springfield.
UIL is seeking an accountant to work fulltime at their Springfield Campus. The role covers a variety of responsibilities and requires Australian accounting experience in business services able to look at strategic business perspectives in addition to the daily financial operations with tasks to include:
- Budget projections, P&L and Cash Flow preparation
- Maintain a Chart of Accounts
- Prepare invoices as required understanding the GST implications for various products in our international education business
- Preparation of monthly and quarterly BAS returns and maintenance of the ATO Tax Portal
- Liaise with other internal departments for budgeting purposes
- Supervision of bookkeeper or facilitation of accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll
- Oversee or facilitate fortnightly payroll
- Monthly payroll tax reporting
- Year-end Tax calculations for review by external our tax accountants
- Monitor and improve finance policies within the business
- XERO software maintenance and updates
- Other finance tasks as requested by Senior Management
Qualifications and experience required for this role include:
- Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Accounting
- Extensive bookkeeping experience very desirable
- Experience with XERO is critical
- Good computer and database skills necessary
- Strong English language skills both written and spoken
- Strong Chinese language skills and an understanding of different business cultures
- Strong people skills
Essential to your success in this role will be your ability to enjoy a variety of tasks and to have close attention to detail. The salary will be $70000 - $75000 pa depending on qualifications and experience.
